1 stick butter
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 ½ cups flour
½ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
¾ cup milk chocolate chips
Heat oven to 350°F.
Place stick of butter in 10-inch cast iron skillet; heat in oven until melted.
Mix sugar, brown sugar, egg and vanilla. Add flour, baking soda and salt. Mix until well blended (mixture will be very thick and crumbly).
Carefully remove the hot iron skillet from the oven, and pour melted butter from skillet into the cookie dough. Mix until well blended. Add chocolate chips, and stir to distribute evenly.
Pour mixture back into the hot skillet. Using an oven mitt, place skillet back in oven (remember your skillet is hot!) Bake 20-30 minutes or until cookie is browned and not quite set.
Cool for at least 10 minutes, and serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
